Philip Carrico received his Bachelor of Art Education from the University of WI-Oshkosh in 1974 and obtained his Masters of Fine Art in Printmaking in 2009 from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After 20 years of teaching art in Fairbanks, Alaska, Philip moved to Washington State where Port Townsend is his home.
“My goal is to bring this art form back to life which first began in China. Printmaking gives one the ability to express themselves in many forms including woodcuts, wood engravings, and linoleum cuts. Creative concepts demand imagination, empathy, insight, patience, and courage to take risks.
